Self Portrait from Photo

For this project, we used a photo reference to create a self-portrait of ourselves. I really like the way this one turned out because it's something I've never done before. I also got to learn how to shade a different way besides hatching. If I could change anything about this project I would try to make my values more accurate, my hair wasn't as dark as it needed to be and I feel like the lighting didn't translate into the final drawing.

SCAD Collage Project

This project was based on goals and aspirations and one of my goals is to go to Savannah College of Arts and design. So out of all of my sketches, I decided I wanted to depict SCAD in my art. I used tissue paper for clouds and the trees and construction paper for the road in the foreground. I also covered the sky with construction paper but I ended up coloring it with oil pastels because I felt like it added more depth. I personally really enjoyed this project because I feel like I put more effort into it than usual and I really like the outcome. I enjoyed getting to use oil pastels and it was interesting figuring out how to blend them and make it look how I wanted it to. If I had to critique my own work, I would say that the perspective could have been a bit clearer and I wish the colors didn't get as muddy as they did.

Holiday Greeting Card

For my greeting card, I wanted to do something different. So I decided to make a greeting card about taking some time for yourself during the holidays because it's easy to get overwhelmed.

Dessert Painting

For my painting, I decided to put my desserts on pedestals. After realizing the background was too bland, I decided I wanted a cake in the background. I also tried to stick with a royal color scheme.

Color-wheel Mandala

My color wheel mandala has 13 colors because my measurements got messed up. I still really enjoy how it turned out.

One-Point Perspective

For my one-point perspective, I chose to do a triangular attic room. I tried to envision a person who likes to travel.

Frog Zentangle

In this Zentangle I drew a frog because of the types of patterns I had really liked in my sketches. I used a sharpie fine-liner, a wide sharpie, and a micron with a brush nib.
